Well, it sure is good to be backwards compatible and where you're not sure all (web) users can or will use the most recent version of a compiled program (wich flash movies are for a end-user) than it must be published in a version wich can be used by all.
In my case I still work with Flash-8 and the downloaded Photoshuffle can't be used because its not compatible. Pitty for me, but also pitty for the rest wich uses an earlier version.

Hey Rob I appreciate your concern. Check out the current stats on Flash Player Usage with the link below. You'll notice the Flash player 9 and 8 usage is just about the same with only a fraction of a percent difference. I know some advertising publishers don't except Flash Player 9 for Flash banners.

I would like to get everyones input on this. Do you think we should offer Flash 8 compatible components?

It's a pitty that the Flash Photoshuffle only works with Flash-9 instead of Flash-8 or earlier versions.
This means that it can't be used in most environments where only Flash-8 or MX develop environment is available (most still have Flash-8 or Flash-MX) and all warn to publish as Flash-8 or even Flash-7 compatible to be safe in website environments!!

Please try to make components wich are also downwards compatible for developpers who are not able to use the newest Flash environment for different reasons.
